We are a site dedicated to addressing, exploring, and solving the critical issues of our time.
A place to collaborate with others, shed light on essential issues, and propose unique creative solutions. A forum to revitalize our democracy and transform the world.
A community of, for, and by for the people.
Humanity is at a crossroads, a critical junction. Our government is failing, our commons and social institutions in disarray. Our climate and economy are in crises.
Never before have the decisions we make, or the actions we take, carried more weight. The path we choose now impacts not only our lives, but the very fate and future of humanity itself.
Now, more than ever, it is imperative that we stay informed and get involved. That we truly understand the crucial issues affecting our lives, and take an active role in proposing and implementing solutions. Because if we don’t nothing will change. These problems will not solve themselves.
The heart of a strong and functioning democracy is an informed and active citizenry. We must reclaim our birthright as educated participating citizens in the greatest democracy the world has ever seen, and craft an America we can once again be proud to live in.
“We have the greatest opportunity the world has ever seen, as long as we remain honest — which will be as long as we can keep the attention of our people alive. If they once become inattentive to public affairs, you and I, and Congress and Assemblies, judges and governors would all become wolves.”
But how can you get involved? How can you contribute to the process, become part of the solution? How can you possibly start to understand the multitude of complex and confusing problems we face? Economic, social, environmental, domestic and foreign affairs. This no doubt seems like an overwhelming, even impossible task.
That is the purpose of this site. To make this task easier. To aid the process of education and participation in three simple ways.
- To Explain the Issues: To bring clarity to the critical subjects. To show how they impact your life, our country, and the world in a simple, objective, and relatable manner. To move past the rhetoric, sensationalism, and partisanship that too often obfuscates the truth and deal with the facts. So people can once again understand the issues and make informed decisions.
- To Offer Solutions: To go beyond simply discussing the issues, and propose solutions. To show these are not impossible tasks, but rather simple obstacles with easy answers if we take the time to understand them. In fact, many of these problems are actually opportunities in disguise. A chance for us to rethink the status quo, to rebuild America into a more vibrant equitable productive society.
- To Start the Conversation: But most importantly to start the conversation. To get people involved in the democratic process, taking steps to better our society and transform the world. You may not agree with each view stated, with every solution offered. But this is your chance to join the discussion. To offer a different analysis or solution, or shed light on an essential issue you are passionate about. To contribute your unique perspective.
The strongest ideas, the greatest solutions, are forged in dialectic. That is why it’s absolutely vital you enter the discussion and add your perspective. Contribute to a topic you are passionate or knowledgeable about. We need people from all different backgrounds and fields of expertise. Each new perspective, every new idea, enhances the final product.
United we can solve any problem, overcome any challenge. It just takes a little time and effort. But the payoff will be well worth it.
If we work together we can increase wages and economic prosperity. We can reduce health care costs, environmental destruction, and government spending. We can revamp and revitalize our failing legal and education systems. But most importantly we can reclaim our democracy and once again build an America that works for all. It’s time to rethink the status quo, it’s time for change.
Real people, real problems, real solutions. Change starts with you.
